E Tu, Jarmon?

Posted: 7th April 2008 by Kenny Colston in Jeremy Jarmon

On the field, UK defensive end Jeremy Jarmon is the key to the defensive line much like a lead actor in a movie or play.

Now, the two roles Jarmon has always played–football player and thespian–are combining.

As released by UK Athletics today, Jarmon is the lead actor in the newest play to hit UK’s campus, Weak/Side/Help. The play concerns performance-enhancing drugs and race in sports. According to Jarmon, it’s no different than lining up for the first play of a game.

“It’s exactly the same,” Jarmon said of the anticipation of both events. “You’re anxious before a play and before a game. Then, after you say that first line or have the first play (in a game), everything is fine.”
The news also arrives with Jarmon officially joining spring practice for the first time. Jarmon had been sidelined by off-season knee surgery. Jarmon had warmed up and ran off to the side during Saturday’s first scrimmage.
More notes on Saturday’s scrimmages to come. Thanks to UK Athletics for the report. The remaining spring schedule is below:

Practices are open to media and fans. Practices held at Nutter Training Facility unless noted otherwise. For practices at Nutter, fans should stand behind the ropes in the porch area. Fans may sit in the stands for practices at Commonwealth Stadium.
Practices might be moved indoors to the Nutter Field House in case of bad weather.
