UK VS. VANDERBILT: MAKE MY DAY

Kentucky doesn’t have to do much to make my day tomorrow. It comes down to two things, really. * Wrap up. Chris Nickson is starting for the Commodores instead of Mackenzi Adams. I’m sure you remember Nickson from the game in 2006 where Kentucky survived to become bowl eligible. Chris almost beat us by himself [...]

Bowl Season is just around the corner and if you’re like me you’ve already started making hotel reservations in cities across the southeast in case the Cats would be selected to play there.  With that in mind I thought I would give my opinion on where I think the schools of the SEC will be [...]

UK VS. VMI: MAKE MY DAY

Here are some things Kentucky can do on Friday that would make my day. * Less than six turnovers from the point guard position. This to me will be the difference between a comfortable win and a dogfight. VMI loves trapping all over the court, and it will be up to Mike Porter and DeAndre [...]

NOT BAD FOR A REBUILDING YEAR

Kentucky is 6-4 this season with a very realistic shot of going 8-4. Let’s just fast forward three weeks and imagine victories over weary Vanderbilt and Tennessee teams. First things first, a win over Tennessee would be the first one since I was –2 years old. Secondly, an 8-4 record would most likely put Kentucky [...]

ESPN played its first of over a thousand college basketball games last night, Duke vs. Presbyterian. Duke rolled, as they should have. They don’t look like their problems from the last few years are fixed yet, but the season has just begun, and I love that fact because it’s the greatest sport on the planet. [...]

This game is going to help the Kentucky Wildcats way more than the 111-53 win over Missouri-St. Louis on Monday will. I had college professors who would have called a game like Friday’s a “character-building experience.” It was very beneficial for Kentucky to have some of the things that happened to them on Friday happen [...]

That’s how close it was. I do not fault Randall Cobb for Kentucky losing yesterday’s game against Georgia. It was the wrong time to call a screen. Georgia had it covered like a blanket. Cobb is going to struggle with screens anyway because he’s so short. The Georgia lineman made an incredible play to pick [...]

Some good stuff has popped up all over the net since the last links post. Here we go. We begin with an interview from Larry Conley by Larry Vaught. The one thing from this piece that struck me was Conley’s view on Kentucky’s OOC schedule. I don’t get it, Larry. Are North Carolina, Kansas State, [...]

A short anecdote before I begin the checklist: Before Georgia’s game with Florida last week, Mark Richt got a motivational speaker to talk to his Bulldogs. That man was former professional wrestler and NFL player Lex Luger, who is supposedly a big Georgia fan. He has also fallen on hard times with his health, which [...]

Before we begin, here’s the only political post I will make on this site…ever. I hope you voted, and if you’re a Kentucky fan that didn’t vote for Barack Obama, there’s a silver lining. Kentucky has been to 13 Final Fours. Take a look at this. 1942 – Franklin Roosevelt (D) 1948 – Harry Truman [...]
