At long last, Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown is formally linked to it’s company counterpart, United Parcel Service (UPS).
UPS, whose headquarters are based in Louisville, has signed a deal with jockey Kent Desormeaux and Big Brown’s owners. The packaging company is now the exclusive marketing partner for the Triple Crown hopeful.
The company logo will be put on Desormeaux’s racing pants for both the Preakness and Belmont Stakes. Desormeaux will also wear a UPS cap after each race.
Minority owner Paul Pompa Jr., had named the colt in honor of UPS, a client of his trucking business.
And now finally, the obvious match to most in the Commonwealth has finally happened. My only question is this: if Big Brown wins the Triple Crown, can he drive the truck?
